Annapurna Base Camp: our signature trek

If one trek defines Shakurma's Pokhara base, it's the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek — a teahouse-to-teahouse route through Gurung villages and rhododendron forest into the Annapurna Sanctuary at roughly 4,130m, ringed by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. It's the trek we most often recommend to travellers who want one genuine high-altitude payoff without an extreme-altitude expedition.

A route for your fitness level, not the other way around

Trekking is often what draws travellers to Nepal, but 'trekking' covers an enormous range — from a two-day village walk suitable for most reasonably fit adults, to Annapurna Base Camp's sustained multi-day climb. We start by understanding your available time, fitness and comfort with basic accommodation before recommending a route, and we're upfront when a shorter trek is a better fit than ABC.

Every trek we arrange includes a licensed guide, and porters where appropriate, along with clear guidance on current permits, altitude pacing and what to pack.
